What actually causes an ECM to brick?

Most commonly it's an interrupted flash — a dropped connection, low battery voltage, or a power loss mid-write. It can also happen from a bad tune file or a failed dealer update.

What's the difference between recovery and unlock?

Accepted Answer

Recovery fixes a module that's non-functional after a failed or corrupted flash. Unlock removes a password or factory lock so the module can be read, written, or tuned — the module is already running fine, it's just restricted.

How fast can you get me back on the road?

Most recoveries and unlocks are same-day. Call first so we know what we're working with before you arrive.

Will recovery restore my custom tune, or does it go back to factory?

Accepted Answer

Depends on what's recoverable from the module. We'll tell you straight what state it comes back in, and if a re-tune is needed after, we can handle that too.

Do you work on gas and heavy equipment ECUs too, or just diesel?

Accepted Answer

All of the above. If it's got a module that needs recovering or unlocking, bring it in or call and we'll tell you if it's something we handle.
